London College of Fashion (LCF)

The London College of Fashion is one of the eminent institutes offering courses in the field of Fashion, Lifestyle, Beauty-therapy, and Make-up. It is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London and is the only college in Britain providing Fashion specializations. LCF is ranked 2nd for Art and Design by QS World University Ranking by Subject in 2022.

Three London trade schools of women founded by the Technical Education Board merged into one college and was named London College of Fashion in 1974. These three origin institutes are Clapham Trade School, Shoreditch Technical Institute Girls, and Barrett Street Trade School.

London College of Fashion Admission

• For UG admission, international candidates will need a strong portfolio, language skills (minimum IELTS level of 6.0) and demonstrate “a current awareness of fashion for products in terms of material developments, new designers and fashion trends” along with academic qualification.
• For admission into the PG courses, candidates require a minimum of 2.1 degrees at the Undergraduate Level, or equivalent and 3 years of work experience, including employment, self-employment, internships, and work placements in fashion-related sectors.
• For English Language Proficiency, international candidates need at least 7.0 in IELTS.

Applicants from India may be eligible to apply for the UAL International Postgraduate Scholarships.

• Scholarship amount: 5000 GBP
• Eligibility:
  • Candidates who got an offer to study a full-time, part-time or online taught master’s course at one of UAL’s Colleges and Institutes starting in 2022/23 are eligible for this scholarship
  • Candidate needs to qualify for the Overseas category of tuition fee status.
  • The candidate has achieved, or is predicted to achieve, an upper second-class honours degree or above at the undergraduate level. Recognised equivalent qualifications are also accepted.
  • Candidates must provide a personal statement as part of their scholarship application answering the following questions.
    • Describe your background and your academic experience.
    • Describe how a PG scholarship would make a difference in your life.
    • Describe how you intend to use the qualification you will be gaining to support your future.
    • Confirm any other sources of funding you have or have applied for to meet the cost of your studies in the UK.
