They will learn the fundamentals, principles, and techniques involved in creating digital patterns using CAD software. The module will cover the advantages of digital pattern making, the software interface, and basic functions.
- Basic Tools:
This module focuses on mastering the essential tools used in CAD pattern making. Students will learn how to use tools such as the move tool, copy tool, cut tool, join tool, and other basic functions necessary for manipulating and modifying digital patterns effectively.
- Pattern Making of Basic Kurta Block:
Students will learn step-by-step techniques to create a digital pattern for a basic kurta block. They will gain an understanding of key measurements, construction techniques, and how to interpret a basic bodice and sleeve block for a kurta. This module provides the foundation for creating various kurta styles.
- Variations in Basic Kurta:
This module explores different styles and silhouettes of the basic kurta. Students will learn how to modify the pattern to achieve variations such as Anarkali and full circular styles. They will expand their design options and understand how to adapt the pattern to different silhouettes and design details.
- Basic Bodice Block:
Students will develop a digital pattern for a basic bodice block. The module covers the key measurements, shaping techniques, and proportions required for creating a well-fitted bodice. This block will serve as the foundation for creating various tops and dresses.
- Creating Tops with Basic Bodice Block:
Using the basic bodice block as a starting point, students will learn how to create different top styles. They will explore neckline variations, sleeve options, and other design elements to unleash their creativity and design versatility within the framework of the basic bodice block.
- Creating Different Elements of Garments:
This module focuses on creating specific garment elements using digital pattern making tools. Students will learn how to construct elements such as plackets, pockets, collars, cuffs, and other essential details with accuracy and precision. Attention will be given to achieving proper fit and functionality.
- Creating Basic Skirt Block:
Students will develop a digital pattern for a basic skirt block. They will learn how to consider waist and hip measurements and understand the shaping techniques involved in creating a well-fitted skirt. This module provides the foundation for creating various skirt styles.
- Variations in Skirts:
Building upon the basic skirt block, students will explore different variations in skirt styles. They will learn how to modify the basic skirt block to achieve variations such as flared skirts, kali skirts, and other desired design features. This module allows for creativity and design experimentation.
- Grading of Bodice and Skirt Block:
In this module, students will learn grading techniques specific to CAD pattern making. They will understand how to scale both the bodice and skirt blocks to different sizes while maintaining proper proportions and fit. Attention will be given to achieving consistent and accurate grading.
